In response a letter in ThursdayâÄôs Minnesota Daily, âÄúThe UniversityâÄôs plastic pollution,âÄù the University of Minnesota Bookstores agree with the letter writer.
As a campus service we are very much concerned with the environment and we are active participants in the UniversityâÄôs recycling and energy saving efforts. We regret the incorrect information provided to Rebecca McCauley when she visited our Coffman store. The University Bookstores do not require our customers to take a plastic bag when shopping with us, and we offer plastic bag recycling in all of our stores so our customers can return their unused bags.
It is through our customersâÄô awareness for environmental concerns that we can all work toward a more sustainable model for caring for our world.
