Legendary Minnesota running coach Roy Griak will be inducted into the Duluth Entertainment and Convention Center Hall of Fame Wednesday night.

Griak is one of four sports figures included in the DECC Harbor Side Hall of Fame in his hometown of Duluth.

The induction will not be the 86-year-old’s first Hall of Fame, he’s also a member of these respective halls of fame: Drake Relays, USTFCCCA, "M" Club and Minnesota Track and Field. Griak is in his 48th year of working with Minnesota track and field and cross country, after going through the program as a student-athlete.

The 25th annual Roy Griak Invitational, which is one of the nation’s largest cross country meets, will be held Sept. 25 at Les Bolstad golf course in Falcon Heights.
