For the second time in the 2009 cross country season, Minnesota junior Hassan Mead has been named the Big Ten runner of the week.

Mead earns this award after a third place finish in the Pre-Nationals meet this past Saturday, where he finished the eight-kilometer race in a time of 23:49.2. This is the fourth time the reigining Big Ten runner of the year has been named runner of the week, twice being named last year, and once earlier this year.
