The No. 13 Minnesota volleyball team quickly took care of business Monday night as they beat George Mason in straight sets, 25-13, 25-15 and 25-14 at the Recreation and Athletic Complex in Fairfax, Virginia.

The Gophers started the first set down 2-0, but that would be the largest lead the Patriots would enjoy the entire match.  Minnesota would score nine straight points later in the set and not look back for the rest of the match.  The most lopsided stat being hitting percentage with Minnesota hitting .456 compared to .060 of George Mason.

Brook Dieter had 11 kills, four digs and two aces, and fellow junior Lauren Gibbemeyer had 10 kills, five blocks and two aces.  Taylor Carico and Megan Wilson, both senior transfers, had solid contributions.  Carico had 25 assists to go along with nine digs, while Wilson had three kills, five assists and nine digs.

The Gophers move on to play Navy in Annapolis, Maryland Tuesday night at 6:00 p.m.
