Thursday, March 25 Music âÄî Bella Koshka, Me & My Arrow, the Alpha Centauri 7th St. Entry 701 1st Ave. N. 8 p.m. $6 Fresh off of a stop at AustinâÄôs SXSW music festival comes darkly poetic five-piece Bella Koshka. Besides being locally lauded for their Cocteau Twins-meets-Goldfrapp style, their frontwoman Laura Boland is gorgeous, as is violinist Hilary Davis. Friday, March 26 Movies âÄî David Lynch Tribute Night 331 Club 331 13th Ave. N.E. 9 p.m. David Lynch movies are mind trips on their own, so imagine them coupled with cocktails and the spooked-out DJ skills of LookbookâÄôs Grant Cutler. Dressing as Lynch characters is encouraged âĂ„¦ maybe some âÄúBlue Velvet?âÄù Movies âÄî The Midnight Movie Society presents: âÄúQuadropheniaâÄù BritâÄôs Pub 1110 Nicollet Mall 10 p.m. $5 Every month, Vita.mn and Transmission DJ Jake Rudh get together for a little club they call the Midnight Movie Society. Think drinking, dancing and a late-night viewing of one cult movie or another. This time itâÄôs âÄúQuadrophenia,âÄù a mod flick based on a Who album. Saturday, March 27 Music âÄî Willie Nelson and Family Mystic Lake Casino Showroom 2400 Mystic Lake Blvd. N.W. 8 p.m $61-69 Yeah, Willie Nelson smoked pot at the White House, but heâÄôs also an enduring music legend with a quivery voice that could make any stony cowboy weep. At 76, heâÄôs getting up there in years so catch him while heâÄôs still in his prime âĂ„¦ though we wouldnâÄôt be surprised if heâÄôs still playing shows at 90. Music âÄî Black Rebel Motorcycle Club First Avenue 701 1st Ave. N. 6 p.m. $18 ItâÄôs kind of a pity this is an 18+ show and therefore must start so early, because we think garage rock band Black Rebel Motorcycle Club would be best seen later in the evening. TheyâÄôre on a relentless touring schedule to promote their newest album, âÄúBeat the DevilâÄôs Tattoo.âÄù Sunday, March 28 Theater âÄî âÄúThe Wizard of OzâÄù Orpheum Theatre 910 Hennepin Ave. 2 p.m., 8 p.m. $23-67 ThereâÄôs a timelessness about the L. Frank Baum book and its accompanying movie that lends to its charm as a travelling stage show. While itâÄôs hard to imagine anyone but Judy Garland as Dorothy, itâÄôs worth opening up your mind just to see how the Orpheum constructs the all-green Mecca Emerald City. Culture to Consume Eat This: We here at A&E love a good post-drinking brunch. We tend to favor The Egg & I down University, but KingâÄôs Wine Bar and their Eggs Benedict is stealing our favor. Weekend brunch is served from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Drink This: SurdykâÄôs has been Twitter-hyping the release of two new boozes, Captain Morgan Lime Bite and Evan Williams Honey Reserve Bourbon. They say the former, a citrus-flavored rum, bodes well with domestic beer, and that has us intrigued. Sounds a bit more upscale than lime rum and Coke. Listen to This: We are not advocating you listen to Justin BieberâÄôs re-released âÄúMy World 2.0,âÄù though we know it may creep into your ears. Instead, pick up She & HimâÄôs âÄúVol. TwoâÄù or GoldfrappâÄôs âÄúHead FirstâÄù for a springtime dose of girl power. Watch This: âÄúThe RunawaysâÄù is a âÄô70s homage to the all-girl band that spawned the career of Joan Jett. Apparently Dakota Fanning steals the show from olâÄô sourpuss Kristen Stewart and weâÄôre A-OK with that. Catch it at the Lagoon in Uptown. Read This: Minnesota isnâÄôt always fashion central and rarely makes the pages of any monthly glossy, but this monthâÄôs Elle magazine boasts a lengthy profile of Sen. Amy Klobuchar. Does she talk trash about Sarah PalinâÄôs suits? Probably not.
