Rock climbing wall opens

The St. Paul Gymnasium hosted the grand re-opening of their climbing wall Friday from 7-10 p.m. Free drinks and food will be provided, and staff will be on hand to answer questions and explain the advantages of the updated wall. Offering more than 900 feet of climbing space, and reaching a height of 25 feet, the new wall, built by St. Paul’s Nicros Co., offers more challenging routes and a “better balance,” Center for Outdoor Adventure Program Director Mitch Hoffman said. Senior Associate Director Dan Allen said the cost of the new wall was nearly $120,000. Check Monday’s Daily for more information about how the wall was constructed and whether students are adjusting well to the new features.
