Too many people base their opinions on secondhand sources of biased media outlets. I worry that we forget to be critical of the mass amounts of media we consume. In recently observing CNNâÄôs online video segments about immigration issues and the previous presidential election, I have noticed a trend in the portrayal of Latino immigrants as âÄúillegal aliensâÄù who come to the United States only to disrupt our ways of life and take what they can from this great country. Talk about blanket stereotyping. Why is it so easy to forget that this country was founded on immigration? Unless you are American Indian, you or your ancestors came here from somewhere else. Stop being prejudice and start paying attention. Faith Woodruff University student
