After Friday’s overtime loss to Michigan Tech, the WCHA bottomdweller, things were not looking good for the Gophers’ home-ice opportunities for the first round of the WCHA playoffs. But a 5-1 St. Cloud State loss and 5-4 Minnesota Duluth loss, Minnesota again has a chance to clinch home-ice advantage tonight. The three teams headed into the weekend in a three-way tie for fifth place – the final spot for hosting a first round series. Minnesota controlled the tiebreaker and heading into tonight, still does. A win tonight will secure home-ice. A loss would mean both Duluth and St. Cloud State would need to lose again for the Gophers to play at Mariucci next weekend. Puck drop is at 6:07 p.m.
