Student shot and killed at high school

FAYETTEVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — A high school senior shot and killed another senior three days before they were to graduate, police said Tuesday.
The school principal said the pair had apparently been arguing about a girl.
The shooting occurred at about 2 p.m. in a parking lot at Lincoln County High School.
Jacob Davis, 18, pulled a gun after confronting Robert “Nick” Creson, 18, police said. Davis fired once and Creson fell to the ground, Fayetteville Police Chief Tom Barnes said.
Creson died about 15 minutes after being brought to Lincoln Regional Hospital, spokesman John Fitzsimmons said.
Davis was arrested without incident and brought to the police station for questioning.
Police planned to charge him with murder.
Principal Jim Stewart said Creson was a football player and Davis was among the top 25 students in the 307-member senior class. Neither was troublesome, he said.
