U welcomes incoming freshmen

This is the second year the University has offered Welcome Week activities.

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) âÄî More than 5,000 first-year students are being welcomed to the University of Minnesota this week. Students are moving into their residence halls, learning how to find their way around campus, and getting a chance to meet faculty and staff. They can also attend programs on money management, health and wellness, and community topics. Students will also get a glimpse inside the new TCF Bank Stadium. A special pep rally is set for 8:30 p.m. on Thursday. After the rally, the new students will form a giant “M” on the playing field. This is the second year the school is offering Welcome Week activities to help freshmen kick off their college careers.
