Two people were robbed in Southeast Como early Wednesday morning, according to a crime alert sent from University of Minnesota police Chief Greg
Hestness.

One of the victims is a University student, and the other is unaffiliated with the school.

The two were talking outside their vehicles near the Como Student Community Cooperative at the intersection of 27th and Talmage avenues southeast when two suspects threatened them with a gun, the alert said.

The suspects took the victims’ wallet, cellphone and purse, but the cellphone was later recovered in a nearby yard.

Neither victim was injured during the incident, according to the alert.

The two suspects fled to a car where a third suspect was waiting in the driver’s seat. The suspects drove westbound on Como Avenue Southeast, the alert said.

No detailed suspect descriptions were available.

Minneapolis police are investigating the crime and ask anyone with information to call the police tip line at 612-692-8477.
