A car struck a female bicyclist at 9:45 p.m. Wednesday night outside the Washington Avenue Parking Ramp exit, University Police said.
The accident, which occurred along Harvard Street Southeast, was immediately reported to police, said University Police Sgt. Erik Swanson. The woman was brought to Fairview-University Medical Center following the accident.
Swanson said the woman was thrown from her bicycle as a result of the impact with the car and sustained injuries to her arm and face.
Police did not release the age of the victim Wednesday night, but Swanson said both the victim and the driver of the car were of typical student age.
The driver remained at the scene of the accident. It is not clear who reported the incident, but Swanson said police were on the scene seconds after the accident occurred. The University Police Department is located adjacent to the parking ramp.
No one was issued a citation in the accident, police said.
