Men’s cross country team drops to No. 15

Minnesota’s men’s cross country team dropped two places to No. 15 in the MONDO cross country poll despite winning the Jim Drews Invitational and defeating No. 8 Wisconsin in its last race.

Wisconsin dropped to No. 11, while Michigan vaulted ahead of the Gophers to No. 12. Indiana (18), Ohio State (20), Michigan State (23) and Iowa (29) were ranked among the top-30 as well.

Minnesota is next in action on Sunday when it hosts the Marathon Sports Run at Les Bolstad Golf Course. The race is set to begin at 9:30 a.m.

Radio contract announced

The University of Minnesota Athletics Department and TJ Broadcast Services announced the signing of a one-year radio contract to broadcast Golden Gopher women’s basketball and postseason contests in women’s hockey and volleyball on KCCO Radio (950 am).

Veteran Twin Cities radio announcer Tom Witschen will call the action. Lynnette Sjoquist will provide the color commentary for the women’s basketball games.
