The Minnesota womenâÄôs basketball team will have its stamina tested this weekend as it plays games on back-to-back days while hosting the Subway Classic at Williams Arena. The Gophers (2-1 overall) will play American on Saturday at 1 p.m., and will face either North Carolina State or Yale on Sunday at 1 p.m. Despite the heavy schedule, junior guard Katie Ohm said the team was excited for the tournament. âÄúWe always say the more games the better,âÄù she said. âÄúI love playing games, itâÄôs what I live for. Practice is about preparation, but we love the tournament here.âÄù Ohm is currently leading the team in scoring, averaging over 16 points per game. American (3-0) has relied on a balanced offense so far this season, with six different players averaging five points or more per game. North Carolina State (3-0) has three players scoring in double digits each game, and has two scoring more than 15 points per game. Yale (1-1) has struggled shooting as a team so far this year, hitting just 37 percent from the floor.
