The Minnesota men’s club rugby team will play in the All-Minnesota tournament this weekend at Fort Snelling fields near Hiawatha and Highway 55.
On Saturday, the undefeated Gophers will play undefeated St. Cloud at 9 a.m., a game coach Mike Becker says the Gophers have “been working for since last fall.”
The two teams scrimmaged earlier this fall, a Gophers loss that Becker called “pretty even.” The Huskies used their experienced roster — they returned all their starters from last season — to their advantage.
Becker is looking forward to this weekend’s rematch, but said the tournament games thereafter will be played mostly by his younger players.
