Dylan to perform at U on election day

Bob Dylan will return to the University on election night for a concert at Northrop Memorial Auditorium. The musician briefly attended the University in the fall of 1959, but dropped out at the end of his freshman year. Despite his days playing in Dinkytown, Dylan has never played on campus before, said Northrop spokeswoman Cari Hatcher. âÄúBob Dylan is important to Minnesota history as well as the national music scene,âÄù she said. âÄúHe is offering a discount for University students, which is a fantastic perk which is not typical for popular concerts.âÄù Tickets for the Nov. 4 show go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday for students. To purchase tickets, students need to show up in person with their I.D. to room 105 in Northrop. Tickets for the general public cost between $66 and $86, but for students theyâÄôre between $46 and $66.
