Gophers wrestler Joel Bauman has chosen his music career over the mat — a decision that could cost him his eligibility under NCAA rules.
Bauman, who has music on iTunes and YouTube, said he was told last week in a letter from University of Minnesota compliance that he needed to take down his music or use an alias to maintain his eligibility.
Bauman said he doesn't plan to comply with either request.
The redshirt sophomore is recovering from his fifth concussion, which has kept him off the mat since mid-November.
