After wearing maroon and gold for four seasons, MarQueis Gray signed with the San Francisco 49ers in late April — a team that dons golden helmets and derives its name from the 1849 gold rush.
Now, Gray will have to adjust to a different color.
The former Gophers quarterback and wide receiver announced on Facebook on Sunday that he made the Cleveland Browns’ 53-man NFL roster. The news came one day after the 49ers announced Gray hadn’t made their roster as a tight end.
