Another meeting between Big East officials will be taking place this weekend. This time only the schools’ presidents are allowed to attend.
The heads of the Big East programs will meet in Washington on Sunday to discuss the future of their conference. Big East officials reiterated that no athletic directors or other conference officials will be attending the confidential meeting.
The Big East was stirred up recently when a couple of its top programs in Syracuse and Pittsburgh departed for the ACC. Worries circulate within the Big East that other premiere teams such as Connecticut will follow suit.
Connecticut’s governor confirmed on Monday that the University of Connecticut is interested in joining the ACC if it wished to expand to 16 teams.
