St. Patrick's Day celebrators will have the option to ride free-of-charge throughout the Minneapolis and St. Paul area this Saturday.
Metro Transit and MillerCoors will be offering Miller Lite Free Rides through buses, the light rail and on the Northstar commuter rail from 6 p.m. to 1 a.m. on March 16.
The companies said the free rides are offered "to promote responsible St. Patrick’s Day celebrations," in a press release on Tuesday.
More than 56,000 free rides were provided on Metro Transit buses and trains last year. This is the 16th year that Miller Lite Free Rides have been provided in the Twin Cities area on St. Patrick's Day weekend.
Those planning on using free transportation are encouraged to plan ahead and be familar with route schedules.
