Halftime Report: Kill has seizure, QB Nelson hurt too

Minnesota head coach Jerry Kill collapsed at halftime with a seizure and was carted off the field. Medical staff calmly tended to the 51-year old Kill, who has epilepsy and has dealt with seizures for the last several years.

This is Kill's second seizure on the sidelines with the Gophers. He had one in the fourth quarter against New Mexico State in Sept. 2011.

Gophers starting quarterback Philip Nelson left the game in the second quarter with an apparent knee injury. Nelson is done for the afternoon, and backup Mitch Leidner will have the keys to the offense the rest of the way.

Leidner led Minnesota on its lone scoring drive, which was capped with a Rodrick Williams touchdown run.

The Gophers lead 7-6. Their defense has looked vulnerable at times, but has held up for the most part thanks to strong play from the defensive line.

@DailyAtTheBank will have updates the rest of the way.
