Gophers announce signing of fourth recruit

The Gophers men’s basketball program has signed a fourth 2010 recruit to a National Letter of Intent, the team announced on Wednesday.

Minnesota head coach Tubby Smith said in a statement that Osenieks would give the Gophers depth at small and power forward.

The team lost senior forward Damian Johnson to graduation after the 2009-10 season, junior forward Paul Carter has decided to transfer and 2009 recruits Trevor Mbakwe and Royce White, both forwards, did not play this past season.

Osenieks joins signees Elliot Eliason (center), Austin Hollins (shooting guard) and Maurice Walker (center) in the 2010 recruiting class.
