Gophers guard Eric Harris was named Big Ten Player of the Week for his performance against Illinois and Michigan last week.
He averaged 17 points per game and shot 62 percent from three-point range.
Harris scored a team-high 24 points in Minnesota’s 88-78 upset of then-No. 18 Michigan on Saturday, including five-for-six three-point shooting.
Harris leads the Gophers with 31 three-pointers and is fifth in the Big Ten with a 43 percent rate from long range.
U athletes earn high GPAs
Gophers women’s athletes have earned a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher for 18 consecutive quarters, the women’s athletics department announced Tuesday.
Minnesota’s female student-athletes recorded a GPA of 3.06 for fall quarter, led by the golf team’s 3.46. Other teams that posted collective GPAs above 3.0 include: tennis, cross country, gymnastics, softball, swimming and diving and track and field.
