Minnesota men’s golfer senior Ben Pisani was named a member of the All-Big Ten First Team, the team announced Tuesday.
The Brisbane, Australia native was a member of the second team as a junior last season, and is the 24th player in the history of the program to be named to the All-Big Ten First Team and the first since 2008.
His 72.24 stroke average this season was the fifth lowest in Gophers history, and the lowest of Pisani’s career.
In October, Golfweek magazine named Pisani as the "Player to watch" for the 2009-2010 season. He is currently the No. 76 ranked player in the nation by Golfweek.
While his team failed to win a tournament this season and will not be invited to an NCAA regional qualifier with an at-large bid, Pisani may still be invited to play as an individual. The participants will be announced May 10.
