The Minnesota men’s golf team placed 10th of 12 teams at the Inter-collegiate at the MacGregor Downs Country Club over the weekend. The Gophers posted a final round score of 15-over par 303.
Freshman Wilhelm Schauman led Minnesota with an even-par score of 72 in the final round. Schauman finished in 14th with a two-over par total of 218.
East Tennessee State’s Chris Wisler earned the individual title. Wisler fired a 54-hole total of 10- under par.
His score, however, was not good enough to earn his team a first place finish.
Wake Forest won the tourna-ment behind a final-round 9-under-par 279. It passed day-one leader North Carolina State. The Wolfpack placed second, just four shots back.
Minnesota’s Dave Gunderson finished tied for fourth, James McLean took 37th, Ben Meyers took 56th and Martin Le Mesurier finished 66th.
