George Green, the associate dean of the Graduate School, said the matter was out of the school’s control. “I am certainly happy to apologize for the tightness of the time,” Green said.
Martin O’Hely, president of COGS, said he wasn’t surprised that there were concerns, but was surprised he hadn’t heard about them yet.
During the meeting, Executive Vice President Barbara Van Drasek also announced that Mark Brenner was nominated for the Friend of Graduate Students Award given by the National Association of Graduate and Professional Students. Brenner is the former dean of the Graduate School and vice president for research.
