Fargo to spend nearly $400,000 to clean dome

The arena was used for sandbagging in recent weeks.

FARGO, N.D. (AP) âÄî Fargo city commissioners have decided to spend nearly $400,000 to clean the Fargodome, which was left with a mess from sandbagging to help hold back the Red River. Bids for the arena cleanup ranged from $398,230 to $1.12 million. Commissioners awarded the cleaning contract to the low bidder, Munters Corp.-Moisture Control Services. The dome manager, Rob Sobolik, said the company worked on the Louisiana Superdome in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina. He said the cleanup will save $5 million worth of electronic equipment alone from malfunctioning due to dust from the sandbagging.
