Freshman Ralph Sampson III might be finding some colors to wear this summer other than maroon and gold.
The Gopher center was invited to tryout for the U.S. under-19 national basketball team according to Gophersports.com. If he makes the team, he will represent the U.S. in New Zealand in July.
Sampson is one of 17 players vying for 12 spots on the squad. Tryouts begin June 16 at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo.
