Minnesota senior Andrew McKessock won the Marathon Sports 5K race at the Les Bolstad Golf Course on Saturday, finishing with a time of 15:50.9. Nine Gopher runners competed unattached in the event, a local and state amateur open.
Women’s CC wins Open
Minnesota’s women’s cross country team placed first out of four teams to win the Minnesota Open with 27 points in the 5K race at the Les Bolstad Golf Course on Friday.
Rowers strong in Boston
Minnesota’s rowing team qualified its Varsity 8+ and Varsity 4+ boats for next year’s Head of the Charles Regatta in Boston, Mass., after a strong showing over the weekend.
The Varsity 4+ boat finished 10th out of 31 boats in the Championship Fours race. The Varsity 8+ boat was disqualified due to a logistical error. The boating list was different from who actually competed in the race.
Coach Wendy Davis is trying to get the disqualification lifted and allow a third place finish to stand.
