Minnesota swimmer Colin Lee-To finished his Gophers career as an eight time All-American. With a GPA greater than 3.5, he now has another honor to add to his trophy case–CSCAA Academic Scholar All-American.

Lee-To is joined on the list by fellow graduates Anthony Portela and Mike Holmes, who were named Scholar All-Americans by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America, for having a GPA of at least 3.5 and qualifying for the NCAA Championships.

Lee-To ended his Minnesota career winning the 2009 Big Ten Title in the 100 meter breaststroke. Portela was a three time All-American in his career, and Holmes was given the distinction twice.

The Gophers also saw six swimmers named Honorary Academic All-Americans for having GPA’s of at least 3.5 and posting NCAA eligible swims. Seniors Cole Young, Adam Weis, Josh Griffey, junior Michael Daup and sophmores Ivan Gutesa and Rob Schnitzler were named to the list.

With a team GPA of 3.09, Minnesota was one of six Big Ten teams given CSCAA All-America distinction.
