Former Gophers running back Laurence Maroney will attend the Big Ten Kickoff Luncheon on July 29, the Big Ten announced Wednesday. The event occurs shortly after Big Ten media days in Chicago. Every Big Ten school will be represented by one former player.
Maroney rushed for 2,812 yards and 22 touchdowns during two seasons at Minnesota. After that, Maroney went on to play in the NFL for five seasons — four with the New England Patriots and one with the Denver Broncos.
