Minnesota outshot the Bulldogs 14-10 in the second. A scrum broke out in front of the Gopher net, as Minnesota’s Kelli Blankenship and UMD’s Vanessa Thibault each served 2 minutes in the box. Each team failed to capitalize on three power plays in the period. Minnesota extends its lead to 2-0 after Blankenship scores her first goal of the season with 17:56 left in the game. The Gophers add on to the lead after senior Chelsey Jones scores a shorthanded goal with 7:22 left in the game. Junior Terra Rasmuseen had the assist. Gophers hold on to win 3-0, sweeping UMD.
