As March nears its end, the weather is not cooperating with the Gophers.
One day after postponing its home opener against Augsburg, the team announced the game would be canceled on Wednesday because of weather conditions. No makeup date for the contest has been announced yet.
The Gophers home opener is now scheduled for Friday against the Northwestern Wildcats. It will be the Gophers’ second series in the Big Ten after being swept by Maryland in three games last weekend.
“It’ll be fun playing Northwestern. They’re a good team,” junior centerfielder Dan Motl said on Sunday.
