Police investigated an apparent suicide Wednesday afternoon in a backyard at 923 22nd Ave. S.E., near Manning’s Bar on Como Avenue.
Officer Timothy Devick of the Minneapolis Police Department said a resident of the house discovered the body of a man in her backyard. Devick called it a suicide, but wouldn’t specify a cause of death. It appeared the young man had stabbed himself.
The man was in his early 20s. Police would not identify him until family members could be notified.
Neighbors described the home where the body was found as a “party house.”
“A lot of young kids live there,” said a neighbor. “Punk look. Lots of parties.”
The neighbor added that all the people living in the house are teenagers or in their early 20s.
None of the house’s residents would comment about the incident.
