The University’s athletics department announced 43 positive test results for COVID-19 since June.

The athletics department last gave an update on testing in June, when seven student-athletes across multiple sports had tested positive. The department conducted 170 tests that month. Since then, the department has conducted 1,406 tests showing 43 positive results.

The athletics department didn’t clarify how many student-athletes, if any, currently have COVID-19. According to the department, athletes who test positive are entered into protocol and asked to self-isolate. Athletes must pass protocol and be cleared by a team physician in order to return to team activities.
