A robbery occurred Tuesday afternoon on the University of Minnesota’s West Bank, per a campus-wide security alert.

The robbery took place at of Fifth Street and 21st Avenue South at 2:42 p.m. Properties near the intersection include the Regis Center for Art, the Barbara Barker Center for Dance and Parking Lot 94.

The suspect was described as a male wearing dark clothes. He appeared to be in his early to mid 20s and used a gun to steal the victim’s purse.

He left the scene in a Red BMW with Minnesota license plate number 109WTM. The car was driven by another male and headed east from the scene of the crime.
