College of Liberal Arts Dean John Coleman will leave the University of Minnesota to serve as vice chancellor for academic affairs and provost at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
Powell was up for reelection this year but was not recommended by the Regent Candidate Advisory Council.

Amundson Hall on the East Bank campus was evacuated early Tuesday evening. Public Safety gave the all clear for campus to resume normally about an hour after the initial alert.
Fayneese S. Miller said at a press conference Monday she was no forced to resign.
