Jasmine Blanks was elected as the new vice president of the Graduate and Professional Student Assembly Wednesday evening.
Blanks, a second-year graduate at the Hubert H. Humphrey Institute of Public Affairs, was the only candidate for the position.
"My major goal for the summer really is just to build the executive board to make sure that all of the newer members are well-acquainted with everyone they need to know to be productive throughout the year," Blanks said.
Blanks’ previous position, vice president of public affairs, will be open until the first GAPSA assembly meeting this fall. She said a public affairs assistant will be hired to help with her duties until the vice president position is filled.
