Sarah Palin endorses Tom Emmer for Minnesota Governor

by James Nord

Calling state Rep. Tom Emmer, R-Delano, "[a] patriotic fiscally conservative "hockey dad"" in a note on her facebook profile, former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin endorsed him in Minnesota’s 2010 gubernatorial race.

Palin called Emmer an "attractive candidate" who would tighten up state spending and lessen the size of government in Minnesota.

"A proud father of seven, Tom is in this race for the right reasons – to provide bold, principled leadership that will leave Minnesota fiscally stronger for the next generation," Palin wrote.

The Republican Party of Minnesota will officially endorse its candidate for governor Friday at the party’s convention in Minneapolis.
