Elmo gazed up from his cup of hot chocolate in the school cafeteria. He never thought he’d hear the words … a double date… ‘a chance with you ….’ ‘know you like me …’ “Oh, Heather, I’d love go out,” he blurted.
“No, you moron! I said temps in the low double digits, a chance of snow, and tomorrow snow likely!” she snapped. “I’m talking about the weather!” She and her snickering friend turned to go. “And tomorrow the temperature should drop from 15 to -5 by late afternoon, too!”
“That’s downright frigid,”Elmo mumbled. But not very loud.
