Department of Health investigating illness in Frontier

A viral infection could be the cause of an uptick in reports of nausea, vomiting and diarrhea within the University of Minnesota’s Superblock dorms, according to an email.

In a Boynton Health Service email sent to some students Wednesday, Public Health and Communications Director Dave Golden said the Minnesota Department of Health is looking into potentials reasons students living in Frontier Hall may have fallen ill since Tuesday.

Students are advised to wash their hands often, avoid sharing food or drink and avoid those who are ill, the statement said. Anyone already sick is advised to report his or her symptoms to Boynton and stay home for three days.
