Eighteen Minnesota women’s athletes earned Academic All-Big Ten recognition. To be eligible, an athlete must be a letterwinner in at least her second academic year and carry a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Four All-Big Ten winners were on the Academic All-Big Ten team. Two members of the volleyball team, juniors Lindsey Berg (business and marketing) and Stephanie Hagen (speech communication). Cross country senior Elaine Eggleston (pre-vet, genetics and biology) and soccer junior Alison Rackley (pre-nursing and psychology) round out the four.
Seven soccer players (Rackley, Juli Montgomery, Keely Dinse, Allyson Brodie, Julie Eibensteiner and Laurie Seidl) led the athletic teams, followed by cross country with six. A total of five volleyball players earned academic honors.
Cross country runner Corrine Nimtz had a 3.92 GPA in business, the highest among student-athletes.

On the heels of a 72-57 win over Virginia Commonwealth, the Minnesota women’s basketball team heads to Ohio University tonight, followed by a Sunday matinee in St. Louis.
The 15-point win against Virginia Commonwealth came after the Gophers (4-3) lost two consecutive games on last-second shots.

Men’s Gymnastics
