After three days of waiting, the Gophers found out their season is officially over.
The team was not selected to take part in the NCAA tournament Monday afternoon. Minnesota’s season ends with an 11-9-1 record.
The Gophers’ last game was a 1-0 loss to Wisconsin in the Big Ten tournament semifinals on Friday, two days after they earned their first postseason victory under head coach Stefanie Golan.
In the preseason, the Gophers were picked by conference coaches to finish 11th in the Big Ten. But they ended their regular season sixth in the conference standings and advanced to the conference tournament’s final four.
The Gophers will graduate four seniors during the offseason: forward Olivia Schultz, midfielders Katie Thyken and Taylor Wodnick, and defenseman Becca Roberts.
