The University sports two recreation centers on the Twin Cities campus to help keep students in shape during the long Minnesota winters.
The University Recreation Center houses an aquatic center, two gymnasiums, two fitness centers, five squash courts and 16 racquetball courts.
The St. Paul Gymnasium boasts an eight-lane pool and a 900-square foot rock-climbing wall.
Because the Recreation Center’s costs are covered by student services fees, there is no charge for students to use the facilities. Lockers and equipment rental are available at an additional cost.
The fitness center’s “rush hours” are between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m.
