Gophers women’s hockey shutout by Wisconsin 5-0
Published November 6, 2010
Just one night removed from beating top-ranked Wisconsin 7-5, the Gophers lost to the Badgers 5-0 Saturday afternoon.
Hillary Knight scored two goals and Meghan Duggan added a short-handed goal and two assists as the Badgers took control early and coasted to the victory.
The Gophers eclipsed their shot total of their seven-goal performance Friday but struggled to maintain any offensive consistency, while the Badgers were on the attack the majority of the game.
Gophers’ goalie Noora Raty struggled Saturday, allowing five goals on 40 shots and taking an interference penalty late in the third.
The Gophers have a bye next weekend before traveling to Mankato to play Minnesota State Nov. 19.
