MPIRG still going
Published November 12, 2008
Since Election Day, all political student groups on campus are taking a breather, except for one. The Minnesota Public Interest Research Group is forging ahead with future plans and goals, refusing to rest since the end of our âÄúGet Out the VoteâÄù election campaign. MPIRG is a nonprofit, nonpartisan student group with chapters on campus and all over Minnesota. We work together on issues that students care about such as higher education, fair trade, campus sustainability, environment and womenâÄôs initiatives. Getting involved in a student group such as MPIRG is a great way to make a lasting impression on this campus and this state. Peer to peer connections are not only made through ties on the Twin Cities Campus, but on campuses all over the state. Our grassroots initiatives, along with lobbying with state legislators, means MPIRG takes action and accomplishes goals on a local and state level. Any student interested in being more active and engaged can attend an MPIRG meeting on the Twin Cities campus in Coffman Union, room 303 on Mondays at 4:30 p.m. Come and realize your potential.
