John Hughes, director of "Ferris Bueller’s Day Off," "Pretty in Pink," "Sixteen Candles," "Breakfast Club," among others, and produced/wrote "Home Alone" and "Beethoven" (yes, the dog movie) died today at 59 of a heart attack. 

I’ll be watching Ferris in his honor tonight.
