The Gophers men’s basketball team has signed two players to National Letters of Intent, the university announced on Wednesday.

Elliott Eliason, a 6-11, 235-pound center from Chadron, Neb., and Austin Hollins, 6-3, 170-pound shooting guard from Germantown, Tenn., are the first members of Minnesota’s 2010 recruiting class.

Eliason was the Gatorade Player of the Year for boys basketball in Nebraska in 2008-09 and has a three-star rating on Rivals.com.

Hollins is the son of Memphis Grizzlies head coach Lionel Hollins and had offers from Arkansas, Memphis, and Oregon State, in addition to Minnesota.

Both players committed to Minnesota in September, according to Rivals, and both have a 3.5 grade-point average or better.
