Five Gophers earn All-WCHA honors

Five Gophers were named to All-WCHA teams at the conference awards ceremony Thursday.


Defensemen Anne Schleper and Megan Bozek were both named to the All-WCHA First Team. The two helped lead a Gophers' defense that allowed the fewest goals in the conference. Schleper is a four-time all-conference selction, and has been named to the first-team three straight years. Bozek was a second-team honoree as a freshman and a third-team honoree as a sophomore before being named to the first team this year.

Forwards Amanda Kessel and Jen Schoullis were both second-team selections. Kessel led Minnesota with 51 points in conference play this season. Schoullis was second on the team with 40. Kessel was a third-team selection a year ago.

Goalie Noora Raty was a third-team selection. The junior was 20-5-2 with a 1.57 goals against average in conference play. Raty was part of the first team as a freshman and a sophomore.

Freshman defeseman Rachel Ramsey was named to the All-WCHA Rookie Team. Ramsey recorded 16 points in WCHA play.
