The crowd was rapt, waiting to hang on his every word. His opponent was winding down a rambling opening statement. “Screw due electoral process,” Elmo thought. “When you’re a populist politician, might does make right.” Elmo launched into his speech: “If I am elected, today’s weather will be mostly sunny with a high in the middle 50’s! And I can promise you, my fellow Americans, tomorrow will be a brighter day, fair, with a high near 60.” The crowd gasped, stunned by Elmo’s sharp political acumen. The cameras whirred and focused in on the bulging veins protruding from his neck and forehead.
